Bangalore: A Brief History

Bangalore was founded by Kempe Gowda I, who built a mud fort at the site in 1537. Over the centuries, it has been ruled by various dynasties including the Wodeyars of Mysore, Hyder Ali, Tipu Sultan, and the British. After India gained independence in 1947, Bangalore continued to grow as a major public sector hub, and later as the center of India's IT boom in the 1990s.
